First-Ever Subaru Impreza 22B STI Expected To Sell For Big Bucks At The Quail Auction

After it was gifted to Prodrive’s R&D director, the 22B STI lived with a private collector in Japan, who kept the vehicle for two decades before the seller acquired it.

Despite multiple owners and plenty of years under its belt, the 22B STI has just 43.5 recorded miles on the clock. Bonhams believes it to be the lowest mileage example in existence and notes the vehicle has never been registered for road use. The Subaru has been kept showroom fresh for nearly three decades – it’s still equipped with the original Pirelli tires.

As we can see, the 22B STI presents beautifully. The signature Sonic Blue Mica paintwork and gold-painted BBS forged wheels present beautifully, as does the black and blue interior, which has a plaque that identifies this model as ‘000/400.’

While mileage this low may trigger alarm bells for some, the vehicle has been serviced extensively. At the same time, the engine has been exercised regularly to ensure optimal operation.
