XL bully owner ‘praying for a Christmas miracle’ ahead of upcoming ban

An XL bully dog owner says she is hoping for a “Christmas miracle” ahead of an upcoming ban on the breed.

From 31 December it will be against the law to sell, abandon, breed from or give away an American bully XL, or have one in public without a lead or muzzle.

It will be illegal to own a bully XL in England and Wales from 1 February.

One XL bully owner appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday (18 December) and said the High Court and government as been given papers for a judicial review into the legislation.

She said: “We want an interim emergency injunction.

“We are hoping for a Christmas miracle. Hundreds of dogs will be put to sleep if this leg comes into place.”
