Thursday, May 8 Evening Cable News Ratings: Fox News Is 1st Choice for Pope Leo XIV News


Fox News topped its cable news rivals when the announcement of Pope Leo XIV was made on Thursday afternoon. During the 1 p.m. ET hour, Fox News had 3.7 million total viewers and 667,000 viewers in the Adults 25-54 demo, while CNN had 1.5 million total viewers and 326,000 demo viewers, and MSNBC had 974,000 total viewers and 127,000 A25-54 viewers. In the later hours, The Five was FNC’s most-watched show in total viewers, while the 5 p.m. hour of Deadline: White House with Nicole Wallace led for MSNBC, and Erin Burnett OutFront was first for CNN.
