Here’s a preview of Palo Alto government meetings happening the week of Aug. 7.

CITY COUNCIL … The council plans to meet in a closed session to discuss labor negotiations with SEIU, Local 521, the Utilities Management and Professional Association of Palo Alto (UMPAPA), Palo Alto Peace Officers’ Association (PAPOA), Palo Alto Police Management Association (PMA), International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) local 1319, Palo Alto Fire Chiefs’ Association (FCA); and to discuss claims from contractors for the new public safety building. The council will then consider a proposal by Palo Alto Commons to add 14 dwellings for seniors at 4075 El Camino Real; consider approving a transportation demand management plan for Castilleja School; and designate a representative to the League of California Cities’ September conference.
