It will go towards buying the sites and refurbishing them so they can continue to serve locals.

The Sun’s Save Our Sups campaign has called on the Government to rescue boozers, with a total of 40 now saved.

Pubs in Cheshire, Yorkshire, Suffolk, Essex and the Highlands are among those that have received the latest support.

Other buildings, including the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, are also benefiting from the fund.

The theatre will get £2million to buy a neighbouring building.

Bosses of the UK’s biggest pub chains have thrown their weight behind The Sun’s Save Our Sups campaign — calling for government help to rescue boozers.

They want Chancellor Jeremy Hunt to extend business rate relief and freeze alcohol duty in his Autumn Statement on Wednesday.

JD WetherspoonGreene King and Yates’s owner Stonegate are backing our calls.

They were joined by Young’s plus Fuller, Smith & Turner.

It comes amid warnings that 10,000 pubs could be forced to close in the new year if government support is withdrawn.
