Comfy cushions and piles of pillows might be your go-to option for snuggles and cuddles but not for this female zookeeper. On Saturday, the Reptile Zoo posted a video of their employee interacting with pythons. For her, it seems to be a routine encounter, but it isn’t for the internet, and rightfully so. It all unfolded when the zoo began recording an educational video about giant reptiles, unfortunately, the snakes in the enclosure were in no mood to cuddle at all. The female zookeeper in question is seen seated in a snake pit filled with thick pythons and boa constrictors ranging in vivid sizes and colours. The woman enthusiastically welcomes a yellow snake in the footage but the reptile moves away from her approach.

She tries to keep up her energetic approach and soon realizes things aren’t going her way. Dejected, she hugs a thick reptile slithering away in the front and says, “None of the snakes want to cuddle.” She eventually gives up prompting the clip to come to an end. In the caption, the zookeeper explains how snakes can be unpredictable. “I wanted to do a quick educational video about a few of them, but as expected, these guys can be so unpredictable! That’s okay! Lol. What can you expect from snakes? I hope everyone is having a great Saturday! Even if it’s going unpredicted. Some of life’s best moments are spur of the moment,” she wrote.

While animal lovers were fascinated to watch the beautiful colours of the reptiles, many did not fail to highlight the potential dangers of such close encounters with pythons. A user commented, “I’d be worried if snakes that size wanted to cuddle me.” Another agreed, “I thought when boas and pythons cuddle it never works out for the individual that gets cuddled.” One more said, “Oh my God, for me this is a nightmare. Brave woman.” Meanwhile, a user said, “This is called living dangerously.”

A furious Instagrammer who couldn’t fathom the reason behind filming such educational videos said, “That’s not a puppy or a cute bunny, it’s a snake, you can’t hug them! This is being nonsensical and clueless. Hope no one repeats this.”
