Former Wicklesham Quarry near Faringdon (Image: VOWHDC) Charles Rowton-Lee, head of commercial agency at Savills, gave the scheme his endorsement.
He said: “It will provide high quality accommodation in a location well placed to support the established hubs at Oxford Science Park, ARC, Milton Park, Harwell etc.
“Furthermore it is well linked to the highway network and connected to existing and new residential areas.
“Another key benefit of this location is the relative affordability of residential accommodation in Faringdon and the surrounding areas compared to Oxford, which is a key issue for scientists working within the city.”
He added: “The archaeological and ecological environment in which the development is set is a unique selling point that we consider will further assist the attractiveness of this site and the development, to new investors.
“The overall design and the phased form of the outline application, albeit with clearly defined parameters, will allow flexibility for a wide range of occupiers to achieve the accommodation that fully meets their specific needs and expectations in order to thrive.”
