Manthey-Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Upgrades Unveiled

Key Takeaways

  • Manthey-Racing introduces performance kit for 911 GT3 Touring.
  • Upgrades include four-way coilover suspension, uprated brakes, and optional lightened wheels.
  • Porsche specialists say the new kit optimizes the GT3 Touring for track use.

Manthey-Racing has introduced a new performance-enhancing kit for the 911 GT3 Touring, the road-biased version of Zuffenhausen’s sharpest driving tool. Working closely with Porsche, the Nurburgring-based specialist has endeavored to improve the handling by fitting four-way coilover suspension and upgraded brake pads and lines.

Customers can also equip the Touring with lightened alloys that weigh 16 lbs less than the standard wheels. With the suspension and handling upgrades, Manthey-Racing says the GT3 Touring has been optimized for track use, but without altering the clean lines of the Touring body.

Improved Underbody Aerodynamics

Aside from that, Manthey has also enhanced the aerodynamics, although you’d never say that by looking at the GT3 Touring. The sports car retains its tasteful wingless look, with many aerodynamic improvements occurring behind the scenes.

A new front lip has been fitted to the bumper, while new air guide elements can be found on the underbody. At the back, you’ll find a more prominent carbon fiber diffuser. GT3 Touring owners can also specify carbon fiber aero discs for the rear wheels – at extra cost, of course.

While the changes are difficult to spot, they result in improved on-track handling and stability. The kit doesn’t comprise much else; the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six has been left unchanged. As a reminder, it develops 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque.

Manthey Racing also offers a kit for the regular 911 GT3 to improve handling.

Subtle Exterior And Interior Updates

There are several understated exterior and interior upgrades, including front and rear tow straps (for track use) and a subtle decal set for the doors. Customers can choose between black or white, but the aero disc wheel cover decals can be specified in several shades.

Lastly, there are LED door projectors and carbon fiber-trimmed door sill trims with illuminated Manthey scripts. The Porsche tuner has yet to reveal the kit’s pricing, but it won’t come cheap, although it’s surely cheaper than what Manthey is working on next. A more hardcore GT3 RS has been spied at the Nurburgring, and it’s taking the 911 and its aero to a whole new level.
