‘Job can be created with help of startups’ – The Times of India


Varanasi: The Student Welfare Cell of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) organised a workshop on ‘Out of the Box Career: Rethinking the Stereotype’ on Friday.About 140 students participated in the workshop, where Rajveer Yadav, as keynote speaker, briefed them about various employment opportunities.Dean of students Prof. Anupam Kumar Nema, while explaining the conventional perception, said in today’s environment, new opportunities for various employment are available and the central govt is also making tireless efforts to promote such opportunities. These opportunities are taking today’s young generation towards a new direction and helping the youth in establishing their identity, he said. Coordinator of the Student Welfare Cell, Prof. Lalit Mohan Agrawal spoke about various workshops/events being organized for the students of the university and also encouraged them to participate in such events. He also highlighted the benefits of this workshop.Student counsellor Nityanand Tiwari said employment is a matter of concern for the students. “We make the impression that govt jobs are good and many people get them and some also work in non-govt organizations, which they consider not good,” he said, adding that often these assumptions are not based on truth. Apart from govt and non-govt jobs, various types of work can be done which are being seen as startups. Employment opportunities can also be created with the help of these startups. By finding such opportunities, students can start a good life for themselves, he said.
