Noteworthy: Rubio remained unbeaten on the season as she brought home the 190-pound championship from the Norco Rodeo Challenge. Rubio pinned her first three opponents to set up a championship showdown against Briana Alvarado of Bakersfield Highland. Rubio placed fourth at 235 pounds at last year’s CIF State meet, while Alvarado finished fourth at 189 pounds. The score was tied at 4 in the championship match but Rubio scored with a takedown in the final second to pull out a 6-4 decision and improve her record to 19-0.
