Illegal auto stand comes up near GMCH – The Times of India

Chandigarh: Illegal parking of auto-rickshaws near gate number 2 of GMCH-32 has caused problems for commuters. The security guards of the hospital have tried to stop the autos, but the drivers didn’t listen to them. A hospital guard has also lodged complaints with UT traffic police, but nothing has been done to check the illegal practice so far. Despite having a designated auto-rickshaw stand near GMCH-32, few drivers park their autos on the slip road near gate number 2 of hospital and when security guards tell them to remove their autos, they quarrel with them.Arvind Singh, a security guard of the hospital, said parking of autos near the hospital gate led to traffic chaos and problems for ambulances and other vehicles while entering or exiting the hospital. Arvind said he has been complaining to the SSP traffic, DSP traffic and traffic helpline number 1073 for the last one week. He has also shared pictures of illegally parked autos near hospital gates, but no action has been taken in this regard, the guard added.
