IKEA to release DAJLIEN home training collection in 2024
Set to be launched in January 2024, IKEA introduces its limited-edition home training collection of fitness gear and recovery and stress relief products named DAJLIEN. There will be 19 versatile, portable, and compact products in the pastel-hued collection to make it easier for the user to stash them in their homes. In fact, IKEA’s DAJLIEN has a sturdy wooden bench that doubles as storage. Its design is inspired by old gym equipment.
The multipurpose bench can be sat and exercised on, and when the user is done with their training, they can store their fitness gear and stress relief objects inside the bench by lifting the plank of wood. Beneath, there is a non-slip mat that comes with the bench, so it can also serve as a piece of wooden furniture, a coffee table in this case. IKEA showcases the DAJLIEN home training collection at its stand in Art Basel Miami where the attendees can get an up-close look at the products before its release in January 2024.

Soft-colored range of fitness gear and more
IKEA’s DAJLIEN packs an expansive range of home training products, featuring non-slip exercise mats, a bamboo step-up board, and a set of ring-shaped dumbbells, all designed to be easily used, stored, and brought anywhere. Exercise and fitness gear are not the only focal points that IKEA locks its eyes on, as the DAJLIEN collection also includes recovery and stress relief products for the users.
These bountiful items aim to help the users take a breather after and during their workout. IKEA hopes that the air purifier, yoga straps, kneepads, a massage ball, and a portable and waterproof Bluetooth speaker, all in gentle tones, can enable them to create a meditative and soothing environment as they go about their exercise routines. Wearable pieces also spring, including slips and ponchos for post-workout wellness.

Versatile and compact fitness equipment at home
Visually pleasing to the eye, the subtle pastel colors of the DAJLIEN home training collection may allow the fitness gear and stress relief products to bring a burst of color or complement well with the user’s furnishings and space. As IKEA Sweden designer Sarah Fager says, not everyone might feel safe or comfortable going to a gym, and even if the exercise takes place at home, some users may have to deal with limited time and space. ‘DAJLIEN was born from the desire to find smart solutions that address these limitations and help people create a convenient and motivating place for exercise,’ she says.
As a result, the playfully colored home training collection by IKEA may be able to offer such. ‘DAJLIEN is all about supporting movement and helping people live more active lives at home. We have designed a collection that helps bridge the gap between home and an active life, that recognizes that training can take many shapes and forms and that you don’t need a lot of space to do a simple workout,’ says Akanksha Deo, a Designer at IKEA of Sweden. IKEA’s DAJLIEN collection is scheduled for six months or until the supplies last after its January 2024 release.
