Hugely popular Christmas seaside attraction returns this winter with 100ft snow slide & free ice skating rink

A POPULAR Christmas attraction is set to return to a UK seaside town this year, with a 100-foot snow slide and free ice skating rink all part of the festive fun.

Christmas by the Sea is coming back to Blackpool this November, transforming the promenade near the beach into “a breath-taking festive village”.

Among a number of rides and Christmas activities, there will also be festive chalets, simulated snowfalls, and a snow slide.

The Snow Slide, which is a one-of-its-kind attraction, will require visitors to climb up to the top of the slide before heading down the 100ft slope on a rubber ring.

There will also be a free ice skating rink, which is described as the “sparkling centrepiece” of the Christmas village.

The ice skating rink will span 20 metres in length and access, as well as skate hire, will be without charge for both visitors and locals.

Those who want a skate simply have to turn up and ask, with no prior booking required.

The ice skating rink will be open from 12pm until 9pm every day, with the exception of Christmas Day.

There will also be several festive fairground rides designed for children, including the Candy Cane Bungee Trampolines, Santa Claus’ Tea Cups, Santa’s Sleigh, and a magical carousel.

For adrenaline-seekers, Europe’s tallest travelling swing ride, Star Flyer, will also make a return to the Tower Festival Headland too.

Meanwhile, illuminated wooden cabins will serve up a range of festive snacks like hot chocolate, mulled wine, warm cookie dough, traditional Bavarian sausages, churros, and Yorkshire pudding wraps.

Christmas by the Sea will be found on the festival headland near Blackpool Tower and will run from November 17, 2023, until January 1, 2024.

There are plenty of other Christmas attractions taking place across the country too.

One of those is The Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham, which is said to be the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany.

Meanwhile, this travel writer thinks their hometown has the best Christmas attraction in the UK.
