Here’s the Roundup for the Week Ending November 8

Happy Friday to all who celebrate. What a week it’s been regardless of your political beliefs. (I was going to write “regardless of where you lean politically” but no one seems to lean anymore, they fully immerse themselves in the opinion.)

In this week’s edition of stories we didn’t write up for one reason or another, we see one Las Vegas station experimenting with single-sponsor newscasts while a Cincinnati media writer kicks off the holiday season with his airing of grievances.

Let’s make the soup:’

Las Vegas station is moving to a single sponsor for its 7 p.m. newscast, a move that Gray Media-owned station KVVU says will cut down on breaks and bring more content to viewers. Ed Bernstein Injury Lawyers will become the sole sponsor of its existing 7 p.m. newscast starting Nov. 11, 2024. Click here for more from Newscast Studio.

At KJRH in Tulsa: After nearly 30 years with 2 News Oklahoma, Karen Larsen is retiring. Here’s the story.

Dalfred Jones III, from KLFY in Lafayette, Louisiana, posted news on Facebook that he is “incredibly excited to announce we’re headed to North Carolina! I have accepted an amazing Anchor/Reporter role at WBTV in Charlotte!” Here’s the post.

Cincinnati media writer John Kiesewetter kicks off the holiday season with the airing of grievances: Some anchors, they follow the subject of a sentence with an unnecessary pronoun. TV anchors, they can drive me crazy. Some TV people, they insist on putting a pronoun after the subject of a sentence. Click here for more.

San Antonio viewers will soon say goodbye to a local broadcaster who moved to the Alamo City two years ago. KENS 5 weekend morning forecaster and weekday reporter Maggie Laughlin shared she will depart from the San Antonio station toward the end of November.  Click here for the story.
