Air India and Akasa Airlines have issued separate advisories requesting passengers to arrive at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure. This follows a directive from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) enforcing enhanced security measures at airports nationwide.

Air India wrote, “#TravelAdvisory: In view of an order by the BCAS on enhanced measures at airports, passengers across India are advised to arrive at least three hours prior to scheduled departure to ensure smooth check-in and boarding. Check-in closes 75 mins before departure.”
Akasa Airlines echoed the advisory, urging travelers to reach airports early and to carry valid government-approved photo identification. Passengers are also allowed only one handbag of up to 7 kg and must undergo secondary security checks before boarding. Also Read: India neutralises second assault; Blitz continuing
“To save time, we encourage you to check in online via our website or mobile app,” Akasa added.
These advisories come in the wake of ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army, which reportedly resorted to firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri, Kupwara, Tangdhar, and Karnah sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
