But do not just take our word. We have visited parks to hear just how much you all have been enjoying yourselves. And our readers’ verdict is: “The Sun’s Hols From £9.50, you can’t beat ’em.”

Here they tell Laurie Stone why they love them, and below we tell more about what is on offer.

‘Splash in pool was great fun’

PHARMACISTS Jakub and Kamila Wojciechowski reckon Sun hols are the perfect prescription for fun-filled bargain breaks.

They also see them as great geography lessons for their son Kosma, 12, and 15-year-old daughter Julia, and unbeatable value for money.

Jakub, 44, says: “We have been going on Sun hols for several years and visited many parts of the UK, but a recent trip was to the South of France and we had a family holiday to remember. It was one big adventure from start to finish. We all had a fabulous time.”

For their latest getaway, they were at Park Holidays’ Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park in West Sussex and from there visited Brighton, Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

Jakub adds: “We use the parks as a base and spend our days taking in the local attractions.

“But it wouldn’t be a holiday without taking time out to make a splash in the swimming pool, which was great fun for Kosma.”

Kamila, 44, describes Chichester Lakeside as a picturesque park with a great choice of meals and superb amenities.

Now the family from Colchester, Essex, who enjoy coastal and country walks, cannot wait to check out more corners of the UK on their hols but also fancy a trip to Italy.

‘Park’s so friendly, our son always finds pals’

HISTORY was repeating for Martin Gardner who made a splash with eight-year-old son Riley on their latest Sun break – 25 years after he worked as a lifeguard at the same park.

Martin, 46, a web developer and his wife, Lynn, 47, a personal carer, just cannot get enough of their hols at Parkdean Resorts’ Wemyss Bay Holiday Park in Renfrewshire. It is just a 20-minute drive from their home in Greenock, so easy-peasy.

This year they plan another Sun hol to Wemyss Bay but also one that will tie in with a visit to the Thomas Land at the Drayton Manor park in Tamworth, Staffs, so Riley can indulge his love of kids’ favourite Thomas the Tank Engine.

Martin says: “That’s the beauty of these breaks – you can use them to go to places of interest or see family in different parts of the UK.

“But during the year we’ll also try to make another trip to Wemyss Bay. It is such a lovely spot and has everything we need. It has got even better since I worked there.”

Riley loves his swims there, the adventure play and activities run by the entertainment team.

Martin adds: “There is a friendly atmosphere and Riley always makes new mates.”

‘Park and caravan are big adventure for kids’

CANNY Cady-Rose Roberts knew just how to enjoy her Sun break – sit back and let her dad and uncle do all the hard work pedalling her around the holiday park.

Cady-Rose was having a ball with cousin Archie Kill, two, thanks to the pedal power of her dad Charlie, 32, a tree surgeon and his brother Guy, 30.

Both the “chauffeurs” admitted that the kart rides around Park Holiday’s Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park in West Sussex were tiring but worth all the effort to see the smiles on the faces of the two young passengers.

Nicole Grubb, 38, who organised the trip and was there with two-year-old son Lucas, says of Sun hols: “It’s unbeatable value and we are looking forward to the latest promotion and planning where to go next.

There is a superb choice and it is one big adventure for the children – especially staying in the caravan.

Cady-Rose was also loving splashing in the swimming pool, going all out in the adventure play-ground and whooping it up at the kids’ discos and non-stop activities organised by the entertainment team.

The group from Horsham, Sussex, agreed it was a holiday to remember.

‘It’s such a great way to start the new year’

FUN-loving four-year-old Emily O’Kane’s Sun hol with dad Ray sizzled with excitement.

Mum Claire, 36, a veterinary nurse, stayed home with one-year-old son Eoin this time but that did not stop father and daughter having non-stop laughs at Parkdean Resorts’ Wemyss Bay Holiday Park in Renfrewshire.

Ray, 39, a heating engineer, says: “I’d heard so much about Sun hols from family and friends, and who wouldn’t want to make such savings. We’ll be all over the latest promotion. It’s a great way to start the new year.”

He adds of Wemyss Bay: “It was just perfect for Emily. From the moment we arrived it was fun, fun, fun.”

He heaped praise on the entertain-ment team and Emily was thrilled by a photo op with Lizzie the Lizard – one of the cuddly characters giving kids a holiday to remember. She made lots of friends and also loved the shows, in both day and evening.

Ray says: “The holiday has given Emily phenomenal confidence. The smile on her face said it all.

“Sun hols are known for their unbeatable prices and when you add into the mix the number of parks to choose from, you are on a winner.”

PENNY the Hedgehog made Lily Lawless’s day when the kids’ favourite posed for a photo with the ten-year-old and her mum Aimee.

Aimee, 38, a leisure centre swimming manager and hubby, Matty, 37, head of communications at a sports organisation were on a Sun break with their daughter Lily, son Freddie, 16, and Aimee’s parents Karen and Steve, both 62.

Their stay at Park Holidays’ Chichester Lakeside Holiday Park in West Sussex was proving fun for everyone.

Aimee says of the holiday: “There’s so much to see and explore in Chichester and along the South Coast but, for the most part, everything you need for a perfect staycation is available right on the park, which is in a beautiful and picturesque setting.

“The investment in the resort is clear to see. The standard of accommodation is first-class and the all-round experience, including food, activities and entertainment, is also fantastic.”

Aimee, from Corringham, Essex, adds: “As soon as you enter Lakeside Holiday Park, with the grand lakes on either side of the road that leads on to the site, you feel at ease. You know you’re on holiday.

“That feelgood factor extends to how the staff welcome you and ensure that you are having a good time throughout your stay.

“With a ten-year-old and a teenager, the balance here is just right for us all to enjoy a memorable few days away from home. We have all had a brilliant time and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.”

As for Lily, she says of her hol: “I have loved the pool, the arts and crafts at the Pottery Studio, the live singers and all the activities here.

“It’s such a beautiful place with amazing scenery.

“I just wish we could come back every weekend”
