Ticker: Spectrum Launches New National Spanish News Network


Top of the Ticker: Spectrum is taking on CNN en Español, Telemundo, and Noticias Univision with the launch of Spectrum Noticias, its new 24/7 national Spanish-language news network.

Anchor Patsi Arias kicks off news coverage each morning, followed by Philip Klint in the afternoons. Maria Rozman will serve as the senior director, news, leading editorial content for the network, which has also established bureaus in Los Angeles, New York City, Florida, and Texas.

Spectrum Noticias is available on Spectrum lineups in its 41-state service area.

Nationwide Pitch: Fox News is expanding its “For All America” slogan with a new promo campaign that puts its top personalities—including Sean Hannity, Harris Faulkner, and Bret Baier—in various parts of the country and in different settings, including football games and diners.

Staying with FNC, Dana Perino was celebrated this week by Fox News Media’s ad sales team for the launch of her new book, I Wish Someone Had Told Me. The event featured a Bill Hemmer-moderated discussion with The Five co-host as well as Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt and Fox Business correspondent Madison Alworth.

Program addition: Newsmax is beefing up the programming offerings on its N2 streaming channel with the launch of National Update. The new weekday news show is anchored by Tracy Sabol, formerly of EWTN.

Time for true crime: GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim is hosting a new true crime podcast from ABC Audio and 20/20 titled What Happened to Holly Bobo. Debuting May 6, the six-episode series explores the case of Holly Bobo, a young nursing student who disappeared from her home in rural Tennessee in 2011.
