7 cars, 1 building burn in Thursday fires

Multiple vehicles and a structure were destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon in Loyd Star.
Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Chris Reid said the fire destroyed seven cars that were in various stages of repair or restoration, as well as an outbuilding.
Three other fires burned on Zetus Road and near Denbury Oil on Dunn Ratcliff Road at the same time. None exceeded 5 or 6 acres, Reid said, and all were contained or extinguished by early evening.
Reid reminded residents to be careful to observe the ongoing burn bans.
