You can now get a vegan ‘MockMuffin’ breakfast burger that tastes just like McDonald’s

Whether you’re doing Veganuary or have gone vegan for the long haul, you’ll know the pain of desperately craving a Mcdonald’s breakfast.

Sure, you can get the hash browns, but they’re just a side. Where’s your main?

Now, finally, there’s a viable option.

Halo Burger, the vegan restaurant that has locations in Shoreditch, Brixton, Bristol, and Brighton, has launched The Sausage & Egg MockMuffin.

As its name suggests, this is an animal-product-free dupe of the classic McDonald’s McMuffin, with some tasty extras.

It’s made up of a Beyond Meat sausage patty, a melted slice of American style cheese, a crispy hash brown patty, a Crack’d egg, THISTM isn’t bacon, caramelised onions, and ketchup, all sandwiched between a toasted English muffin.

To reassure you, yes, that’s all entirely plant-based and vegan.

Inside are Beyond Meat patties, a hash brown, fake bacon, vegan egg, and cheese (Halo Burger)

And in even better news, while Mcdonald’s stops serving breakfast at 11am, Halo Burger will sell their muffin all day long.

The downside, however, is the price. While a McDonald’s Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin costs just £2.69, this vegan take will set you back £12 – more if you decide to add extra patties and cheese.

If you do fancy giving the MockMuffin a go next time you’re nursing a hangover, you can visit any of Halo Burger locations once lockdown is over and done with, or order any of their items for delivery.

They offer other vegan fast food options, in case you’re not in the mood for breakfast.

Take your pick from The Halo Burger, The Smoky Carolina BBQ Burger, The FlameBurger, The Quarter Pounder with cheese, The Cheese Burger, Pink Salt Fries, THISTM Isn’t Chicken Nuggets, Crispy Onion Strips, Crispy Jalapenos, Hash Browns, or Dappa M*lkshakes.

We repeat: That’s all vegan, so go wild.
