But one little-known resort in central Europe has been attracting attention online thanks to its affordable accommodation.

As reported by Euronews Weekly, Jasna ski resort in Slovakia is a “cheaper alternative” for advanced skiers.

They wrote: “It offers some of Europe’s best off-piste routes with lift passes costing around €59 (£51) per adult per day in the high season.

“Accommodation is also inexpensive at as little as €25 (£21) a night for a B&B.”

Food and drink is cheap too, with a pint of draft beer costing as little as £1, meanwhile, a meal out at a mid-range restaurant will cost around £7 per person.

Thanks to the funding, the resort is now home to high-speed lights, off-slope facilities, and extensive snowmaking.

In total, the slopes stretch for 50km and have been said to rival those found in the Alps.

On a Fresh Track morning, advanced skiers will be able to enjoy skiing down an empty slope before the cable cars have launched.

Skiers can also stop for a spot of breakfast at the panoramic Rotunda Restaurant.

Other attractions include the Snowpark and Funzone, which features ramps for snowboarders to practice their jumps.

There’s also a nighttime ski tour where holidaymakers will be able to climb one of the routes after dark.
