Attention, Taco Bell aficionados—following in the footsteps of its Cantina restaurants, this “tacoasis” in Palm Springs, California, is the fast food chain’s first hotel. But if you didn’t book a room when reservations opened at The Bell on June 27, you may have to cry into your carnitas, because this one-of-a-kind experience sold out in two minutes.
For the pop-up hotel, which opens for just four nights in August, Taco Bell took over an existing property and decorated its more than 70 rooms to create this on-brand experience, which features “bell” hops, sauce packet pool floaties, Taco Bell room service for breakfast, a daily Happier Hour, and a “dive-in” movie by the pool.
Naturally, food will be a dominant theme of the experience, and exclusive Taco Bell menu items should fire up those super fans.

Rooms will be decked out in taco-themed tackiness, including hot sauce pillows, and an on-site spa that will dole out Taco Bell-inspired nail art, fades, and a braid bar. For apparel, a gift shop will feature food-flavored fashion lines.
“The Bell stands to be the biggest expression of the Taco Bell lifestyle to date,” says Taco Bell’s chief global brand officer Marisa Thalberg. “It will be fun, colorful, flavorful, and filled with more than what our fans might expect. Also, just like some of our most sought-after food innovation, this hotel brings something entirely new for lucky fans to experience and enjoy.”
This is not the company’s first foray into expanding the lifestyle side of its brand. In fact, the idea for the hotel sprang from the surprising success of its flagship Las Vegas Taco Bell Cantina restaurant as a hot spot for weddings. Its Cantina restaurants are upscale versions of the classic fast-food chain, with one crucial upgrade for weddings: alcohol. Over 150 couples have tied the knot at the venue since 2017, when it first started hosting nacho-tinged nuptials.
The speed of The Bell’s bookings indicates a strong appetite for the fast-food chain’s lifestyle brand. While there have been no announcements yet, it’s likely there’ll be more opportunities to enjoy the saucier side of life with Taco Bell in future.
“We would like to extend a big ‘thank you’ for those who have come along on this journey with us,” says Thalberg. “Even though The Bell is sold out, we’ll have more to share on exclusive merchandise, food, and more in the coming weeks, so those unable to score a room can still experience the fun from home.”
