
The Missouri Department of Transportation is scheduling lane closures on I-70 from September 20 through September 24 at Grain Valley. Crews will continue bridge replacement work along Interstate 70 at Route AA/BB. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and be vigilant of work in the area. All work is weather permitting.
On Wednesday, Sept. 20, beginning at 5 a.m. crews will close the left lane of eastbound I-70 at Route AA/BB until 9 a.m. for temporary barrier relocation.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, beginning at 8 p.m. crews will close the left lane of eastbound and westbound I-70 at Route AA/BB until 6 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 for pavement marking work.
On Friday, Sept. 22, beginning at 8 p.m. crews will close the left lane of eastbound I-70 at Route AA/BB until Saturday, Sept. 23 at 6 a.m. for a traffic pattern change.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, beginning at 5 a.m. crews will close northbound and southbound Route AA/BB at I-70 until Sunday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. to remove the bridge deck.
This project will be constructed over the course of three phases in the next year. Phase 1 included bridge work and work within the median. Phase 2 will address the westbound side of the project and Phase 3 will address the eastbound side. The project is anticipated to be complete by winter 2023.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
