The rendered design showcases a sporty, squat, and more purposeful design than prior iterations of the SL. It wears the familiar vertical-bar AMG grille with the big Mercedes badge in the center, stylish headlamps, and a long hood. The contrast of the black soft-top roof is a change over the complex retractable hardtop fitted to previous SLs. Overall, it’s a much less flabby affair and looks more resolved than the pre-facelift current-gen SL, which received plenty of criticism when it was launched. New spy shots of the high-performance AMG show that it has a sleek rear end with a deployable spoiler.
