COPD cure could come from transplanting patient’s own lung cells, say scientists

n experimental treatment which sees a patient’s own cells transplanted into damaged parts of their lung could offer a new hope for sufferers of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), researchers have said.

Researchers said that a new preliminary study has shown that it is possible to repair damaged lung tissue among certain COPD patients using their own lung cells.
